We are delighted to welcome you at the 9th National Scientific Conference of Howrah Town Diabetes Study Society, Howrah, the “City of furious, creative energy”. The Local Organizing Committee presents HDSCON 9 whose endeavor will be to bring the latest updates to you. We promise to bring to you erudite Faculty from various corners of the country. The conference will be from 28th to 29th September, 2024 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. We will be leaving no stone unturned in making this an academic extravaganza. Hope to see you all in Kolkata, the city that can be explored not only through its educational Institutions and scientific enterprises but also through its culture, heritage, art, literature, cinema, theater, hospitality and warmth. You will relish not only listening to the academic repartees but also tucking into a macher paturi or mishti doi

About us

ABOUT HDSCON

Howrah Town Diabetes Study Society was founded on 01st July 2018. A thought provoking idea of having a one of its kind Diabetes Society in howrah: We likeminded enthusiastic dedicated doctors having an interest in the field of Diabetes and its related Specialities formed the first diabetes society in Howrah.
The aim of the group was to raise awareness about diabetes, conduct social and scientific programs to enhance learning, interacting and applying updated knowledge for the betterment of the society.

THE JOURNEY

Our journey began on 1st July 2018 with our first conference theme Diabetes 360'. The subsequent conferences were:

  • January 2019 - Diabetes & Family
  • August 2019 - Diabetes and Complications
  • January 2020 - More in Diabetes
  • August 2020 - Surviving with Diabetes in the Covid Era
  • September 2021 - Diabetes Tsunami during Insulin Centenary
  • September 2022 - Diabetes Care Sugar & Beyond
  • October 2023 - Diabetes care for all, Together we can


A learning phase evolved with each conference and with every passing event we continued to enrich our core strengths — Doctors with an interest in Diabetes to join us to make our organization bigger and better. A special thank you to our senior teachers who joined us in our endeavours as Patrons notably among them....

As we gathered pace with our activities our colleagues chipped in with their whole-hearted involvement as Executive Committee members, Dr Sukumar Barik , Dr Satish Gupta , Dr Satyaki Manna , Dr Satyam Chakraborty , Dr Somnath Naskar, Dr Kaushik Pahari , Dr Somnath Mukherjee , Dr Hridish Narayan Chakravorty and make each event a memorable one.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Life style modification is an integral part of Diabetes care and we are very grateful to our dieticians, Diabetes educators and nurses to be a part of our journey.

We conducted educational programmes for nurses, people with Diabetes and diabetes awareness walks on World Diabetes Day. (Walkathon on 14th November 2018, 2019, 2022 And RideOn on 2021, Awareness rally on diabetes during covid period 2020,) Diabetes Awareness seminar with Howrah City Police on 14th Nov 2019. Health extravegenga 2022.

The who's who of the society participated in our activities like Haimanti Shukla, Debajyoti Mishra, Sidhu, Santanu Roy Choudhury, Sankarlal Chakroborty , I.P.S. Tanmoy Roy Choudhury, I.P.S. Gourav Sharma, I.P.S. C . Sudhakar ,I.P.S. Praveen Kumar Tripathi, P.P. Somnath Banerjee & many other's celebrity, making it one of the unique features of involving more & more people from the community so much so that it became a social event in the calendar of Howrah municipality.

All this has been made possible by the support of our Industry partners. A very special thanks for their contribution.

VISION

A Very Simplistic aim is to expand it beyond the borders of Howrah, thus realizing its true potential in the continuing medical education in the field of Diabetes. Our platform is to encourage young dynamic enthusiastic doctors to participate in our CME's.We also aim to train diabetes educators and junior doctors in the field of diabetes and related specialties. With these few words we are very excited to announce our 9th National Scientific Conference of Howrah Town Diabetes Study Society on the 28TH - 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2024, from 9 am to 6 pm. This event will showcase the latest in diabetes care and discuss ways and means of translating advances in science into practice. We look forward to meeting you all on this Platform so that we can interact and meet new colleagues.

    For Registration
    • Every delegate will receive a registration confirmation mail after the successful completion of the payment of registration fee. Time span for receiving the mail may vary due to several reasons. If you do not receive any mail within 15 days of registration please mail at howrahdiabetessociety@gmail.com
    • Only registered persons can attend the conference. Replacement or substitution is not allowed.
    • Registrants can make cancellation requests from their user profiles or may mail at howrahdiabetessociety@gmail.com

    For Accommodation
    • Check-in: 14:00 hrs. Check-out: 11:00 hrs. Check-in/check-out timing will be followed strictly.
    • Early check-in and late check-out are subject to room availability and as per the hotel policy.
    • One must carry his/her ID PROOF at the time of check-in.
    • All additional expenditures incurred on telephone calls, room service, wi-fi, laundry, mini bar, tobacco, additional cot, restaurant bills etc. should be settled by the guests before departure.
    • Extra room nights will be subject to room availability and as per the hotel policy. Room nights will be charged as per the hotel rate.
    • Organizing committee holds the sole authority to select the co-occupant for every boarder who opts for twin sharing.

  • Cancellation Policy
    CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
    • No verbal cancellation requests will be entertained. Cancellation request should be mailed to howrahdiabetessociety@gmail.com.
    • Cancellation will be effective with the acceptance acknowledgment sent from the HDSCON 2024 Secretariat.
    • Refund will be initiated as per the following, after 30 days of completion of the conference:

    Cancellation by July 31, 2024 50% of the Paid Amount
    Cancellation by August 15, 2024 75% of the Paid Amount
    Cancellation after August 15, 2024 No Refund
    • No refund will be applicable on internet handling charges, taxes etc.
    • With the cancellation of Conference Registration, all the paid and complimentary services/facilities/entitlements will be canceled.
    • Mode of Refund Remittance will be by Cheque only.
    • No refund will be applicable in case of eventual No Show.
    • In case of overpayment or double payment, the amount will be refunded to the account of the individual.
    • Neither the HDSCON 2024 committee nor any of its associates will be held responsible if the conference is canceled or postponed due to natural calamities, political insurgence, etc. In case of cancellation or postponement of the conference, refund policies would be decided then and delegates will be informed accordingly.
    • No refund will be granted for early termination of attendance, cancellation of speakers or any other incident which are beyond the control of the organizers.

Hence, according to Curzon this memorial should take the form of a great marble hall, which was to be erected on the Calcutta Maidan to serve primarily as a monument to the Queen and secondarily as a national gallery and Valhalla of the Indian Empire.

At the time of its construction, it was the 3rd longest cantilever bridge. Now, it is the sixth-longest bridge of its type in the world!
